Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of our distribution center, ensuring that materials are handled, stored, and shipped accurately. This position requires a proactive individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and cherry pickers to move materials within the warehouse.
- Load and unload shipments, ensuring proper handling of goods to prevent damage.
- Perform order picking tasks, accurately selecting items for shipment based on customer orders.
- Build and assemble pallets for shipping, ensuring stability and safety during transport.
- Maintain an organized workspace by properly storing materials and keeping the area clean.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against packing lists.
- Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure stock levels are accurate.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
Requirements:
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks safely.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties.
- Experience in a distribution center environment is preferred.
- Strong order picking skills with attention to detail for accuracy.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
